If elephants could fly, my love
And castles could spread wings
I’d bring before you wondrous sights
I’d teach you many things.
Its not enough to tell you
What and who and when and where
Its not enough to show you things
that are so plainly there
To teach my love is more than this
Its How and Why and So
Its magical and mystical
Its getting you to know
That things are not just what they seem
Because they seem to be
The reason love, the scheme of things
Is what you ought to see
If castles then could spread their wings
And elephants could fly
The sky would be a crowded face
The birds a small neglected race
And clouds so very hard to trace
The world would be a different place
